He sat in his car, texting to Sassy with a grin as he glanced up at the house and waited for her to get where he wanted her...right in the main foyer. It was as good a place as any to show up, and he didn't quite feel comfortable just slipping into some random room. After all, other people lived there...

The 'blind texting' thing was his undoing, leaving him with several seconds where he had to stop himself from laughing. Shaking his head and taking a deep breath to compose himself, Tommy put his phone away and ducked out of his rental car, shutting the door and walking around to the front. This was a fairly easy exercise, but he wanted to be really quiet...

Shutting his eyes, he started walking forward...and felt the change in the air as he moved from outside into the air-conditioned, recirculated air of the house. It smelled like a home, and vaguely odd at the same time...as if someone had been cooking something vaguely unpleasant.

But she was right there in front of him, at least the back of her was...and as usual, she was like a beacon in the night. The energy she radiated was almost tangible, a warmth emanating against him...

Grinning, he walked around to stand before her, straightening the faded lavender Affliction t-shirt he was wearing and doing his best not to make any noise. He waited about sixty more seconds before he finally spoke with a grin.

"Open your eyes."

The new paint job looked damn good.

It was one of a thousand things Tommy was noticing as he sat in the dining area of the club, absently rolling a quarter across his knuckles while his brethren chatted all around him. The bright red paint cheerfully illuminating the scene behind the bar was eyecatching and vivacious...but at the same time, too plain. Maybe if he offered, Belle would let him do a mural back there...

"Dog's right. Something's different about you, T."

Tommy glanced back at the group of men who were all staring at him with odd looks. "What?"

"You're like...the man tonight. Do you see yourself?"

Tommy frowned, looking down at the way he was dressed. He'd been sick for days, so what if he'd traded his usual neat jeans and t-shirts for a pair of stylishly worn jeans and a black leather vest that laced down the front? He wanted out of the casual and into something that felt more human. Besides, it looked kind of interesting with his new haircut, and with his usual sandals on, it felt good to be able to slip them off and pad around the club in his bare feet.

They were right about one thing, though...he did feel stronger, stronger than he'd ever felt in his life. And the coin was rolling between his fingers more easily than it ever had...

"I feel good, that's all I know." Tommy admitted with a shrug. "But I've felt like shit this week, so how's that bad?"

His compatriots were saved from an answer as a familiar figure caught Tommy's eye, weaving her way through the club. Grinning as he spotted her, Tommy stood up and climbed on his chair, waving his arms to flag her down. "Yo, Sass! Over here!!"

He was wiped out after the whole thing was over, but the important thing was that the whole goddamn thing was over.

He'd made it.

"Howzabout another round of karaoke, bro?"

Tommy rolled his eyes at Ben, flipping him off as he finished the last of his beer. "Man, I ain't doing that again for the rest of my fuckin' life. Make Jay and Mike sing with Lola, I'm gonna go take a leak."

"Real attractive, loser."

"In your eye, don't mock the mark." Tommy grinned, shoving his left wrist under Ben's nose for the umpteenth time to proudly brandish the small set of handcuffs that were now tattooed there...mystically, sure, but still there nonetheless to symbolize his permanent link to the order.

Setting his bottle down on the table, Tommy headed for the bathroom in the club and relieved himself, then caught the time when he was washing his hands and realized how late it was. Damn it, he'd promised to let the girls know...

After a little magic made to send word to Lauren, Baileigh, and Sophie, Tommy slipped out of the magician's club and onto the street, rummaging through his cell phone for the address to Sassy's place...right there, as promised. He wasn't sure she was there, but it was a link to her all the same.

Being a full member of the Fraternity meant he was completely unrestricted in using his power as he saw fit. Still riding an adrenaline high, he made a bit of a production of it and walked about a block away, turning the corner with a small use of power...

...and instead of walking into a young girl's bedroom, where he expected to be by focusing on Sassy, he found himself in a slightly hairier situation. And, from the looks of it, she was in equally dire straights. Jesus, what was wrong with those dudes faces?...

Blanching as he watched Sassy stake one, then watched it explode, he couldn't decide whether to help or leave her to it.

"Yo, Sass!!"
