Okay, so I was looking for a file on my computer today? And I found a folder with some old pics that I'd scanned in. And when I say old, I mean old, I hadn't cut my hair yet. Most of 'em are from my big pilgrimage to Houdini's grave, but there's also one random from school in there worth laughing at.

So if you wanna see what a misspent youth looks like, follow me in...

* * * * *

When I went to the cemetery, I brought my buddy Bela and my cousin Carbone. It was spring break during my sophomore year of college, and I was...maybe twenty? It was my first time back home in New York since I was ten. Bela and Carbone brought the damn chair. Boney was studying photography at NYU, thought he was hot shit. I hated to admit it then, and I hate to admit it now, but he really is.

I literally flopped down for a second, and Carbone snapped the photo. I like this pic, always have. It looks, to me, how the place felt that day. Peaceful, still, and really kind of like heaven. It's gorgeous, and my cuz is brilliant.

Being at the grave was kinda like being in the presence of the master himself. I'm like anybody, graveyards spook me, but the Houdini plot...it was amazing. Everything was so quiet, so tranquil...so warm. I sat there for nearly three hours while my friends kinda checked out the rest of the cemetery. It wasn't like I talked to his ghost or anything, but there was a real sense of communion there. I felt welcome, I felt at home. It was just...beautiful. If his spirit really lives on? It's there. It was an honor to sit by his name and just soak in the sunlight in the presence of his final resting place.

And because we all need a good laugh...

Freshman year of college, I think. That's Taylor Lang on the right, a member of my study group, and his sister behind us, Jelly Lang. Her first name's actually Kelly...that's a long story. Anyway, Taylor started in the art program, but went on to law. Go figure. Jelly and I ended up working together at Black Saber, and we're still buds to this day.

It really is gorgeous, the whole Weiss family plot.

*blushes and laughs* Man, I looked like a girl with all that hair. That or some cheesy male stripper. I have a pic somewhere on my hard drive where I look just like that. It's really bad, seriously.

*grins and rolls his eyes* Yeah, thanks.

That was taken shortly after I got to LA...know how the new guy in town is fresh off the haywagon? Since I came from Vegas, my roommate liked to say I was fresh off the 'ho train.' With that look? I totally was.
