Greetings, friendly friends!

So when I began writing Tommy, he and his universe were a science experiment that was very near and dear to my heart. I had no idea where he would go or what he would become...he was an underveloped background character in a larger story I was working on.

Well...he's no longer so underdeveloped.

Due to the fact that Tommy is becoming the focus of my '08 NaNo novel as I rewrite it, I want to focus more on developing his voice at the beginning of his story, which is pretty much a distant memory in RP. So to that end, Tommy has a new 'verse in case anyone cares.

THE FRATERNITY: This verse is PROMPTS ONLY and has no ties to RP. It's basically Tommy in the world of my NaNo novel and will have no effect on any of his RP 'verses, canon or otherwise. While I might choose to make some of the pieces in this 'verse part of his RP canon, nothing in this 'verse will be open to interaction. It's basically Tommy taken back to square one and developed within the course of my novel...glimpses of him developing within that 'verse and that 'verse alone. Sneak peeks of the finished product, if you will. ;p

Right now, Tommy will probably be writing in this verse for only one comm, avantgarde_muse, so unless you see a post tagged otherwise, it's a safe bet that you'll only see this version of Tommy when I prompt for this comm. Feel free to read or not as you see fit, and play with my little man in all his glory in all his other worlds and AU journals.

Aaaaaaand...yep, that's about it! Back to your regularly scheduled Monday, already in progress.

OMG! That is so smart!! I've been toying with doing something similar with Lauren. I tried it as an RP thing with another character but that didn't work. I don't know why I didn't just think to do it like this. Would you care horribly if I stole your idea to use Avantegarde as place to test the waters for a Lauren verse of her own?

The comm isn't mine or anything, but the notion? Take it! Use it! DOO EET, BE NOT AFRAID! :P It's just hard to write for him when he's already advanced so far in RP, you know? Capturing the original voice is a challenge, and this comm seems like a great place to undertake it. :P

LMAO!! Thank you. And I know what you mean. At least you had some concept of a 'verse for him in mind. I originally made Lauren for someone else's character but in the process she just became mine and I fell in love with her. Even if I'm convinced at times she's bipolar. Unfortunately, she's always been part of this SWS multiverse so it's turning out to be really tough going backwards and creating the universe she would exist in a novel or something.

That's how all of my OC's start, I tend to adapt them to play as I see fit. Some I stick in fandoms, others remain in their own. Hell, Tommy's pals, the Kellar twins? They've lived for about nine years in my head and existed in about a MILLION different worlds, fandom and original. It gets a little insane in my brain.

...and I'm officially a poet and don't know it, but my feet show it, they're Longfellows. *cue rimshot* :P

Well, I can't wait to read what you come up with. I love the idea behind Tommy and the world that you created. If it ever does get published I'll be first in line to buy it. It's something I would have bought anyway and it's geeky I'm sure but I feel a little privileged to be around to see him flesh out.

lol. And amusingly, I remember reading Tommy's bio when you posted it... somewhere (On the couch maybe?) and got all excited because I had to talk to you about this random person on the interwebs who work a story that I think we should totally get involved with!
