[rp] Sliping out of the party...

He was wiped out after the whole thing was over, but the important thing was that the whole goddamn thing was over.

He'd made it.

"Howzabout another round of karaoke, bro?"

Tommy rolled his eyes at Ben, flipping him off as he finished the last of his beer. "Man, I ain't doing that again for the rest of my fuckin' life. Make Jay and Mike sing with Lola, I'm gonna go take a leak."

"Real attractive, loser."

"In your eye, don't mock the mark." Tommy grinned, shoving his left wrist under Ben's nose for the umpteenth time to proudly brandish the small set of handcuffs that were now tattooed there...mystically, sure, but still there nonetheless to symbolize his permanent link to the order.

Setting his bottle down on the table, Tommy headed for the bathroom in the club and relieved himself, then caught the time when he was washing his hands and realized how late it was. Damn it, he'd promised to let the girls know...

After a little magic made to send word to Lauren, Baileigh, and Sophie, Tommy slipped out of the magician's club and onto the street, rummaging through his cell phone for the address to Sassy's place...right there, as promised. He wasn't sure she was there, but it was a link to her all the same.

Being a full member of the Fraternity meant he was completely unrestricted in using his power as he saw fit. Still riding an adrenaline high, he made a bit of a production of it and walked about a block away, turning the corner with a small use of power...

...and instead of walking into a young girl's bedroom, where he expected to be by focusing on Sassy, he found himself in a slightly hairier situation. And, from the looks of it, she was in equally dire straights. Jesus, what was wrong with those dudes faces?...

Blanching as he watched Sassy stake one, then watched it explode, he couldn't decide whether to help or leave her to it.

"Yo, Sass!!"

Sassy had gone out regardless of Dawn's decree. She wanted to kill something, she needed to kill something. Her emotions were haywire on a good day, so when she was pissed off or frustrated it was that much worse. She'd even agreed to let Dawn have someone tail her, so long as she got to go out and slaughter. She wasn't the best Slayer in the world and Dawn's worrying didn't bother her, it was comforting, having someone worry about her again. It made her feel at home, safe.

When she heard her name though, her head popped up and her eyes went as wide as saucers. "HoshitTommy! What're you... Oh crap." Squealing a little, she squirmed as one of the vampires got its arms around her waist. How terribly uncouth of him! "Get off me!" she yelped, elbowing it in the stomach before bringing the back of her hand right up into it's face. She twisted quickly out of its grasp, stumbling slightly before swinging her leg up in a roundhouse kick. It was a good kick -- a bit too much momentum that sent her spiraling into a gravestone, but a damn decent kick.

The vampire, typically, descended on her and lashed out, picking her up and throwing her into another gravestone. They were certainly plentiful, and so hard. Much with the pain. Pressed back against the grave, she squirmed slightly before her lips curved up into a predatory little smile, pulling her hand back and closing her eyes as the dust fell around her, fingers still gripping the stake hard enough to make her knuckles white. She slumped, tired, against the grave, ignoring the dust all over her clothes (and her hair, how rude), the blood on her lips and chin, the way her ribs were once again screaming bloody murder at her, the feeling of bruises sprouting up everywhere. That was... ow.

Tommy was fully ready to come to her aid, but as he watched the second vampire fall at the hand of her stake, he realized that would have been the odd man out. Granted, it was nothing pretty to watch, but she clearly knew what she was doing, and that little smile she got when the thing exploded all over her...

The second the vampire was gone, though, he was at her side, offering her a hand up. "Hey, babe. Easy, sit up here...Jesus, you all right?"

[identity profile] no-substitution.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
"I think I broke a nail," she murmured, sitting up slowly and using all her willpower not to wince. It didn't work and she hissed out a whimper instead, which was so not better than wincing. Stupid vampires. She squinted when she opened her eyes, reaching up to brush her fingers across her lips, wiping the blood off her face with the back of her hand.

When her eyes focused, she smiled before flinging her arms around his neck. The entire motion set her into a world of hurt, but... "Omigosh Tommy, you're okay!!" She breathed out a sigh of relief and clung to him like a baby monkey. She really didn't care about herself right then and there, thanks, Tommy was okay. No gaping head wound, no dead, all alive and not dead!

[identity profile] magic-fratboy.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
At her answer, he blinked, then snickered, shaking his head. Broke a nail...only Sassy would worry about that when she was covered in dust and bleeding.

"Just take it easy, you'll--oof!" he replied, cut off with a grunt as she flung her arms around him and hugged. Tight. Very tight. Dimly, he remembered Baileigh mentioning Slayer strength, this was obviously the stuff right here.

Still, he smiled and hugged her back gently but warmly, dropping a friendly kiss against her temple. "Got a little tricky, but yeah, I'm just fine. You don't have to worry, I'm okay...Sass? The squeezing, can you...just a little, just a tiny bit less hard..."

[identity profile] no-substitution.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Less hard? Huh? "Oh. Oh!" She let go quickly and looked up at him with a sheepish smile. She always forgot that she was stronger than most everyone else. "Oh, sorry! I'm just... you're okay."

As if to reassure herself, because you never knew -- boys are tricky, she reached up and brushed her fingertips across his temples. "You don't have to do that again, right?? All death defying stunts where you could die from a bullet to the brain are over right? Please?"

[identity profile] magic-fratboy.livejournal.com 2008-07-28 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I am...I'm fine." he repeated with a soft laugh as she examined his head with her own two hands. "And no, no more bullets to the head. Y'know, unless I'm feeling froggy."

At her look, he grinned and leaned over to kiss her forehead in a friendly manner. "But I won't. Promise. I'm just...really not a fan of willingly getting shot at. So you don't gotta worry, only bullets I'll be catching from now on belong to bad guys, okay?"

[identity profile] no-substitution.livejournal.com 2008-07-28 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
That doesn't make her feel better and she frowned at him, her eyebrows knitting together in an annoyed and frustrated expression. Using the gravestone pressed against her back as a sort of leverage, she pushed herself to standing -- holding her breath so she won't pant or gasp. Awesome slayer magical healing power is kind of for shit when it just happened.

"Does that make you a fan of unwillingly getting shot at then?" Oh darn, her stake was still on the ground. She looked at it for a second and then decided to leave it, there was no way her ribs were letting her bend down again to get it. "Are you sure you didn't get shot? 'cause that's stupid and I'd rather blame it on brain damage than the idea that you think that's actually funny."

She wanted to cross her arms, but the ow factor kept her from doing that so she just frowned harder.

[identity profile] magic-fratboy.livejournal.com 2008-07-28 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Tommy grinned, shaking his head. "That ain't what I mean, Sass. It's kinda complicated to...explain..."

Trailing off, Tommy's smile slowly vanished as he felt it. The coldness, the pain coiling low in his belly where the power lived inside of him. He knew that touch of black magic, and now that he was fully initiated he could feel a difference in his control. The others had been right: it did get easier once it was fully accepted.

"Hang on a sec..." he muttered, laying a hand on her shoulder and closing his eyes for a moment. He just needed to sense it...if he could feel it, he could hurt it, if not kill it...

And he couldn't do either. Either it was hiding too well, or it wasn't actually in the cemetery.

"C'mon, let's get you home." he murmured, wrapping an arm around her shoulders to urge her along. "Before I have to end up showing you."

"The apartment is only a couple blocks away." Usually she would have gone off on some little monologue about the awesomeness that was her and Dawn's apartment that Daddy bought for them on the Upper East Side that cost more than she could imagine, but the look on his face distracted her.

She looked up at him curiously, tugging her bottom lip between her teeth as she followed his lead and started moving out of the cemetery. She could still taste the dried blood and she wrinkled her nose. "Showing me what?"

[identity profile] magic-fratboy.livejournal.com 2008-07-28 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
He was about to answer when he felt it coming, darkness closing in on the edge of a blade...

Stopping dead in his tracks, Tommy ran through at least three different tricks in his mind before he raised a hand behind him and caught the knife before it could sink between his shoulderblades. Bullet catch, knife catch...it was all the same shit.

With a hard look, he brought the knife forward, flipping it with an expert grip that felt somewhat alien. He hadn't had much practice with knives, but maybe it was just part of the power...

"Showing you that sometimes getting bullets or knives thrown at me ain't always a choice." he sighed, gesturing for her to wait a second as he turned on his heel and shut his eyes, focusing...

A moment later, he drew back with one arm and flung the knife back into the darkness. A heartbeat later, they both heard a distant, sickening scream.

Turning back to face her, he manged a small smile. "C'mon, let's get outta here before that thing gets back on its feet. We got a good twenty minutes, it'll lose us by then."

[identity profile] no-substitution.livejournal.com 2008-07-28 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
Sassy wrinkled her nose further. She thought she detected a squelching noise accompanying that scream. She didn't like things that squelched, they were normally gooey and sticky and smelled not so much with the delicious and normally thought she did and it would be wonderful to have a taste.

And... "Since when do you throw knives? That's like my thing!"

[identity profile] magic-fratboy.livejournal.com 2008-07-29 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Tommy smiled...then blinked, frowning thoughtfully. "You know? I don't. Never have." he admitted, shrugging. "The guys say that some things I can do are just instinct, like in my blood? Escapology, for instance. I guess I'm...some kinda deadeye? Hell if I know. Guess I should just be happy I didn't miss, huh?"

[identity profile] no-substitution.livejournal.com 2008-07-29 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oooh, I get it. This whole Slayer thing is instinct." She nudged him left to go towards the apartment building and tried to stealthily settle more of her weight against him without being obviously as just sagging into a ball of dead weight. She could walk, there was just a lot of ow going on. "So what else can you suddenly magically do, besides like being el capitan big bad detector and resident knight in shining armor pour moi?"
