And it's also kind of a boy's club, anyway. Women are in the minority, and for years they weren't allowed their rightful place in the public eye as magicians. They were assistants and confederates, all with power of their own. Funny thing is? As female descendants of Pandora, women are better at magic than men. Houdini was really the first male magician to come along since the start of it and lay a claim to any rare level of power. Hell, there's even a myth circulating that he was actually a reincarnated Titan.
