[searchlight] I may not be a pony, but I can take you for a ride...
He sat in his car, texting to Sassy with a grin as he glanced up at the house and waited for her to get where he wanted her...right in the main foyer. It was as good a place as any to show up, and he didn't quite feel comfortable just slipping into some random room. After all, other people lived there...
The 'blind texting' thing was his undoing, leaving him with several seconds where he had to stop himself from laughing. Shaking his head and taking a deep breath to compose himself, Tommy put his phone away and ducked out of his rental car, shutting the door and walking around to the front. This was a fairly easy exercise, but he wanted to be really quiet...
Shutting his eyes, he started walking forward...and felt the change in the air as he moved from outside into the air-conditioned, recirculated air of the house. It smelled like a home, and vaguely odd at the same time...as if someone had been cooking something vaguely unpleasant.
But she was right there in front of him, at least the back of her was...and as usual, she was like a beacon in the night. The energy she radiated was almost tangible, a warmth emanating against him...
Grinning, he walked around to stand before her, straightening the faded lavender Affliction t-shirt he was wearing and doing his best not to make any noise. He waited about sixty more seconds before he finally spoke with a grin.
"Open your eyes."

"Open your eyes."

Her face was buried against his neck and she didn't dare open her eyes. This was clearly just a dream to screw with her brain because of the bet. Betting was like a sin or something after all, right?
"Tommy?" she muttered, not bothering to shift her face so that her words would actually be understood. "This isn't a dream right? Your perfect timing is just like a skill or something?"
no subject
"Magic, babe...and perfect timing." he grinned, setting her back on her feet again and drawing away to look down at her. "Told you I was coming, I wanted to surprise you. I got in last night...and from the looks of it, I caught you during school. You on lunch, or you got a half-day or something?"
no subject
"I don't actually know where anyone is though. Cain's probably at the hospital, and Terry's probaby with AF but... IDK, I haven't been home long enough to hunt anyone down for lunch."
no subject
"Everything okay?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. "I actually messaged Bee this morning, she was feeling hung over...what exactly's up around here?"
no subject
"AF -- which is Annie, by the way -- may or may not be a werewolf, so for now I'm calling her Alleged Furball until I can change it to Furball or Not Furball. Either way I'm still calling her AF. So.. whatever. I don't really think I should talk about it because I'm preeeeeeeeetty sure my opinion is not of that of the rest of the house." She shrugged lightly and slowed down, so she was next to him instead of leading. "Bee and Cain had a fight, the full moon starts tomorrow, I gave Hank a black eye and there's probably bunches of other drama that I don't even know about because I live in the kitchen. Welcome to Searchlight."
Stopping, she leaned over and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I missed you."
no subject
"Missed you too, Sass." he admitted honestly as he pulled out a chair from the kitchen table and reversed it to sit backwards and fold his arms across the back of the chair. "Glad I could get out here to meet you all...it's really great to be home, know what I mean?"

Food was her thing. People liked it and people needed food so...
Laying the mess of food on the counter she was quiet as she started the assembly process, flicking the oven on low. She knew it was a rhetorical question, one that didn't need to be answered, but she did anyway. "Not really."
Home was a confusing concept for her at the moment.

Shifting a little, he rested his chin on his forearms, continuing to watch her with a small, affectionate but almost accusing smile. "I find that kinda funny, being what you are and all."
