Both? I mean, sure I wanna take care of you, but I literally just...don't know what to do with that kind of money. Honestly, a million dollar house? I'd be scared of breaking it or something. [sheepish grin]

Then why don't we put some money down on a house and finance the rest, so we might have a mortgage like every other normal couple?

If I pay more then a million dollars for anything I'd expect it to be more then durable.

Eventually you are going to have to get use to this...the money...attention....I do not imagine you are fated to live an ordinary life. But one in the limelight. After all, a man who lets himself be run down by a steamroller is certain to catch some attention. [wink]

[Clears her throat and shakes her head] We. Deserve. It. Soooooo.....can we put in an offer? I am certain I can talk them down in price. I have my ways....[Bats her lashes and flashes a wickedly sweet smile.....before letting it fade to a mock glare.]

How is it different? If I tell you I will live, you will believe it, just as I believe that you will survive. That does not make it easy to watch.....or think about.

I know you will be okay. I do. If you say it is so, I will believe you. Still.........I don't like the idea of you being hurt. Even just a little.

[Already, the wife has him in line as he smiles and nods.] Okay, we make an offer. But we haggle, alright?

There is a difference, babe. If you go under a steamroller, I suffer, I know you'll live...and all that comes of that is a lotta pain. If I go under, nobody knows anything. And when I come out alive? Yeah, I know you'll be stressed, but the world keeps turning. Because I went under a steamroller so a bunch of humans would believe I'd survive it. Do you understand?

It isn't fair.....you should not suffer if I am hurt.....[She sighed softly and laid her cheek against his chest] I.....understand....you promise me, give me your word, you do not do this without me there.

There won't be....blood or.....squished parts will there?
