[Trust me] There are weirder things to do on a Thursday night...
He was trying to practice...but it was kind of hard every time the air was forced from his lungs by a kitty bounce.
Lifting his head from his place stretched out on the floor, shackled in a set of prison irons, Tommy eyed the fluffball that had just jumped on his belly yet again, interrupting his concentration. Hardeen simply gazed at him with passive blue eyes, doing what Tommy could only imagine was his version of 'sweet and innocent.'
"You were a brat growing up, and you're a brat now." he muttered, finally willing the cuffs and leg irons open and letting them fall away. As if understanding that he was now the center of attention, Hardeen walked up Tommy's body to sit on his chest and delicately lick his chin.
"Yeah, yeah...I'm whipped. Sue me." he huffed, reaching up to scratch him between the ears. Hardeen began to purr immediately, making Tommy smile and wish that Zee were home. It was something club-related, he knew that much...whether or not she'd finally gotten Dog to check the place out remained to be seen, but she'd said that she would be home within a few hours.
Tommy was holding her to the exact time of eleven thirty...any later, and he was going after her.
Sitting up, he gathered the kitten in his arms and had to wonder at that...his impotent rage, the cat, still sharing the loft even though Zee was definitely sticking around and probably should get her own place...unless she didn't.
Tomorrow night would tell the tale. The Date. In capital letters. He was kind of ashamed of how eager he was to finally get to that point.
Sighing, he stood, Hardeen still in his arms, and playfully slung the kitten over his shoulder as he headed for the kitchen. "Come on, Dash...lady of the house'll be home soon, and it's high time you got fed."

Finally, after what seemed like hours, she was finally pulling into the parking lot of the apartment building and smiling. Didn't matter anymore how long she spent away, coming back to the loft always gave her a feeling of intent.
She'd thought about getting her own place and she had planned to look, but with things happening as they had, she'd just kept putting it off. Maybe she was holding onto something. Maybe she was holding onto someone. However now that the thought crossed her mind, she really didn't want to overstay her welcome. Perhaps she needed to talk to him about it..and soon.
'Ugh..' she groaned, still a little pissed that it took her as long as it did to get there. She closed the door, put her miscellaneous things she aquired through the evening down and pushed a special looking envelope into her purse before setting out to search for Tommy and Hardeen.

"He, uh...he refused to eat unless I sat here with him." Tommy admitted with a shy, sheepish smile. "Check it out."
Making a move to stand, Tommy watched as Hardeen promptly abandoned his bowl and looked up at Tommy with a plaintive yowl.
"See?" he chuckled, sitting back down as Hardeen went back to his bowl with an impatient little swish of his tail. "The little guy's a freakin' prima donna."

'Huh.' she watched, a slow laugh rolled from her throat as a massive smile etched into her lips. Bringing her eyes back to Tommy, she shook her head. 'What a daddy's boy.'
'Then again..' she paused to get a bottle of water from the fridge which when she turned back with a 'cat that ate the canary' size smirk. 'He's not the only one that feels better when you're always in view..'

Sometimes his still felt a little too fragile, too broad and too large. He'd been built differently last time.
After a few moments, he found himself reaching up to catch her hand when she got close enough so he could draw her to the floor with him.
"C'mere, he needs more company." he joked, pulling her to sit in his lap as Hardeen simply glanced up at them, then went back to his dish.

'Him or you?' she chuckled before putting a hand up to his face. 'Cause he doesn't seem to care much right now..'

When they finally parted for air, he smiled and settled his arms comfortably around her waist, content with simply looking his fill as he gazed into her features. He loved her face (and the rest of her, but focusing was just crass)...there was so much sweetness in those features and so many hard lines at the same time. Her whole story was written out across her face, and he loved being able to just sit there and read.
"So," he finally went on with a grin, "how'd club stuff go tonight?"

Parting from his lips, she sighed contently and without realizing it, became completely lost in a pair of deep, soulful brown eyes. She could feel his contentment, but was unsure of why it was happening. She'd never been this open before and never once had she experienced this sort of connection with anyone. It seemed to be happening more and more frequently through the days she spent with Tommy and in the midst of beholding these intimate moments, Ziyah realized there was so much more to it then what was completely obvious.
'Well..I'm sorta waiting on Dog to let me know what was there before anything was built on the property, but I did get all the permits in for renovating. Now I need to call Jay, and hit him up for some contractors.' she grinned, just a little excited about getting things moving.
'I would have been back earlier but LA has this thing with closing streets to pave roads.' she laughed before stealing another kiss.
'How was your evening?'

"It's been pretty quiet." he admitted, letting his head rest back against the kitchen cabinet. "I been practicing on escaping from the shackles when Hardy'll let me...think I found my coffin, too. Mike's gonna modify it for me to replace the center of the lid with a pane of plexiglass. It'll allow a view inside the casket when I'm buried, to prove I'm there? And a way out for me when I get ready to dig my way to the surface."

Listening to him speak of the escape sent her smile into a faded one. To say it didn't bother her would be more than a lie. It bothered her alot. Hearing him talk about the casket reminded her of the times that she had to discuss funeral arrangements with her mother.
Holding her breath, she looked deep into his eyes; her brows narrowing in seriousness as she pressed her lips together in thought. The night he first told her, and the request to leave him there if anything went wrong, played over in her mind. She promised herself she would stay optimistic, but as the days inched closer, she was fearful she would end up losing him.
'Which you will do...right?' she spoke softly, looking into each of his eyes for the answer before he told it.

Reaching up to take her face between his hands, he looked her in the eye and gave her the best possible answer he could.
"If it's within my power to do, you bet your ass I will." he replied quietly, managing a small smile. "Besides, I'm betting if I don't you'll be plenty pissed at me, and no one wants that."
no subject
'Well..' she spoke in an almost whisper. 'I'm giving you my power too. So take it and make damn sure you get out.' she eyed him, a small smile meeting his. 'Or I'll come down there and beat you senseless.'

Hardeen chose that precise moment to jump on Zee's lap and yowl in protest, rubbing up against her in a demand for attention.
"Jealous, much?" Tommy quipped, reaching down to pet the kitten's head. He received a booming purr for his efforts.

Turning her head in direction of the kitten, Zee let out a laugh before scooping him up and setting him on her chest. Snuggling into the nice little space between her and Tommy, Hardy let out an yawn and peacefully closed his eyes in quiet contentment.
'I think it's cause we cuddle before bed.' she chuckled, lifting an eye for a reaction.
no subject
In response, Hardy opened his eyes long enough to stretch, splaying one tiny paw mightily against Tommy's chest.
"See? Manly cat embrace right there."
